It’s funny. I have been working for my present client since late last year. I was previously a full time employee of theirs and so there are a number of faces that I recognise and people that I will stop and chat to that know about some of my previous escapades. Of course, they always ask me what I’ve been up to lately and I have to tell them that I’m not up to much. What with knees, work and family I don’t spend a lot of time training these days. In fact since the middle of last year I haven’t spent time planning escapades of any kind, not even fantasy ones.
This only struck me today as I started to formulate a plan. It’s one that I’ve mulled over for some time and it harks back to 2007 when I completed the Marathon des Sables and one of my cousins suggested that it would have been easier to do it on a motorbike. In some ways he was right, and yet if you pick the right escapade it can be just as difficult and rewarding as the MdS. And so I’m back on it. I have a number of angles that I would like to cover it from and will need help from a number of people to be able to get it off the ground. Of course time and money are everything and so I need to work out where and when this can be slotted in, but rest assured that if I think that you might be able to help me out, with advice or help or joining in, then I will be in touch some time in the future.
